Sarah Mahoney is EVP, Marketing Communications at M Booth Health. She has extensive experience in leading communications planning and strategy for global health practices and major biotech engagements. She has also spearheaded strategic communications planning for pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and health institutes.
Sarah joined MBH from Weber Shandwick where she leveraged her experience in health campaigns utilizing emerging technologies to lead corporate reputation content strategy for Vertex Pharmaceuticals and managed the social media team supporting the CDC’s childhood and flu vaccination efforts. She has successfully guided numerous PDUFAs and product launches, including Novartis’s cardiovascular blockbuster Leqvio, Biogen’s postpartum depression treatment Zurzuvae, Vertex’s cystic fibrosis therapy Trikafta, and their non-opioid acute pain pipeline.
Sarah also previously managed Bristol Myers Squibb’s integration of Celgene, where she gained significant expertise in oncology, and all aspects of Novartis Pharmaceuticals’ social and digital presence, including editorial operations, community management, measurement and analytics, paid media, and senior digital counsel. Sarah has launched several award-winning unbranded disease awareness digital and social communities, focusing on health topics such as multiple sclerosis and chronic eye conditions.
She holds an MPH in social and behavioral sciences from Boston University, and her earlier career included roles at Boston Children’s Hospital and JSI public health consulting firm, where she worked as a new media associate for AIDS.gov.
