Jacob Potter is Executive Vice President, Public Affairs at M Booth Health, directing thought leadership and advocacy communications for a range of industry, nonprofit, and public sector organizations. As one of the agency’s longest-tenured professionals, he is sought out by clients for incisive strategic analysis and counsel on health policy and public health issues.
Jacob has particular expertise in HIV prevention, oncology, health information technology, value-based care, and other aspects of health care delivery. He led M Booth’s work with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to normalize routine HIV testing. Over several years for multiple clients, he helped avert threats to clinical trials of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and demonstrate broad-based support for FDA approval and uptake. With senior public health leaders, he helped secure policymaker and advocate support for federal Ending the HIV Epidemic programs, and for new investments in the public health workforce in the wake of COVID-19. In the oncology space, he led the agency’s work with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) for nearly a decade, helping to build ASCO into an authoritative voice on U.S. cancer policy and an effective champion of equity in patient care.
Jacob began his career with a stint in management consulting for the biopharmaceutical industry, which included writing about health policy and health systems for an industry trade journal. He is a graduate of Cornell University.
