A veteran brand builder, Karen excels at shaping and amplifying the voice and purpose of the organizations she represents. In her current role, she is sharpening and showcasing the unique capabilities of M Booth Health, whose mix of deep healthcare expertise, social impact track record, and stellar creative and digital chops make it a unicorn among health communications consultancies. Her responsibilities include agency branding, external communications across all web and media platforms, thought leadership, and business expansion.
Before taking on her marketing and growth role, Karen led the firm’s strategic planning function, helping clients that include pharmaceutical companies and brands, along with leading governmental health organizations and medical societies, shape their identities. She also co-led the agency’s proprietary Pharma Brandemic study that tracks evolving attitudes and behaviors toward pharmaceutical brands as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Karen’s skills as a marketing communications leader were honed over decades serving in various strategy, creativity, and innovation leadership roles at Ketchum, a top Omnicom-owned public relations firm. There, she developed the agency’s strategic planning process, ran its global creativity network, innovated its creative crowdsourcing site, ran its awards program, co-led its marketing to 50+ practice, and spearheaded consumer brand, healthcare, and financial services accounts.
Her work has earned top industry recognition for creativity with business impact. Karen is a member of Chief, the women’s leadership group, a Board member of the National Eating Disorders Association, and a Yale graduate. Karen is also the proud mother of two grown daughters – one has followed in her footsteps as a professional communicator; the other is pursuing her MD-PhD.
